In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Lib’s memory to Athens First United Methodist Church, Lib Brett Scholarship at Athens High School, Hospice of Limestone County, or to a charity of your choice. Pallbearers are Bill Hamilton, Barry Hamilton, Bruce Hamilton, Larry McCoy, Mike McCoy, Walter Walker, Whitt Walker, Robert Searcy, Winfred Crutcher, Gary Hill, Charles Bunnell, Henry Brown and Mark Jackson. The family appreciates the caregiving of Barbara Bratcher, Rosa Bozarth, Linda Nave and Betty Russell. Survivors include her son, Dan granddaughter, Brock Elizabeth sister, Mary McCoy and husband Larry nephews, Bill Hamilton and wife Theresa, Barry Hamilton and wife Chris, Mike McCoy, Bruce Hamilton and wife Allyson and several grandnieces and a grandnephew. Lib was preceded in death by her parents her husband, Ralph her brother, Brub Hamilton and her nephew, Brett Hamilton. Later she taught adults in the Fellowship Sunday school class and she led a Thursday morning Bible class for 20 years at Athens First United Methodist Church. She taught the high school Sunday school class for years. She so loved teaching that she often said she would have taught even if she had never been paid. She taught many years at Athens High School, and she finished her career as director and instructor of the Honors Program at Calhoun Community College. In 1950 Lib began her 40-year teaching career at Clements High School. She was a member of Athens First United Methodist Church. She attended Athens City Schools (class of 1947), graduated from Athens College in August 1950, and from George Peabody College for Teachers in August 1955. She was born in the Ripley community to William Floyd and Prudie Hamilton on May 12, 1930. 17, at Ripley Cemetery with Spry Funeral Home directing, Kenny Baskins officiating and acknowledgements by Fred Bickley III. He was born on Wednesday, Novemto Travis Walker and Ellie Cox in Springhill, Louisiana. The graveside service for Elizabeth "Lib" Hamilton Brett, 85, will be at 11 a.m. Brett Warren Walker Brett Warren Walker, age 56, of Alexandria, Louisiana, passed away on Thursday, Novemat Pecan Grove Training Center, a residence/school for special needs children.
